Two days ago, senator Chuck Schumer high-fived one of his Democrat colleagues, Heidi Heitkamp, after she voted in favor of late-term abortion. Late term abortion is categorized as aborting babies in the womb after 20 weeks (5months). The bill could save over 18,000 babies this year. President Trump wanted to sign this bill into law. Sadly the bill was voted down. • In the Bible, Manasseh (Muh-na-suh) was the only son of King Hezekiah. Hezekiah was very Godly, therefore, Manasseh grew up in a very Godly home. Scripture tells us that Manasseh became King at age 12 and he ruled 55 years. As Manasseh grew-up he got a taste of the world and became enticed by all kinds of worldly views. He entertained many types of idols. He worshiped polytheistic form of Baal, as seen in this photo. Baal is the biblical name of the Canaanite (&Phoenicia) god which was always associated with child and baby sacrifice. **They sacrificed their children to their idol. How scary, awful, and selfish. They did this because Baal was the fertility god which brought about good crops, livestock and better family life. Killing their child would give them a better life because Baal would bless them. • Today, our country is just as grotesque. We don’t serve a Canaanite Baal; but, we do serve and appoint rulers who operate like Manasseh... it’s the American politicians. We serve a self idol as well. Our American culture and country’s Baal god is not a statue that sits crowned by a flame. It is the same demonic force that drove Baal worshipers though .... we slaughter our children in this country for the sake of lifestyle and convenience. • Just like back then, today, the affluent and most well off society sacrifices their own children in times of crisis or calamity. Back then, it was for the convenience of crops and livestock and today it’s for the convenience of an easier life. Most abortions are given to women over the age of 21-45 (only 3-4% of all abortions are for high risk and that including only (.5%) for rape). • Like in Manasseh’s day, today we have an issue, instead of the church and the Godly influencing the culture, the culture and rule makers are influencing the church. American Christians voted for the killing of babies in this country. 70.6% of all Americans claim to serve Christ, yet somehow we have allowed this idolatry to rule our system. Manasseh was exiled from Judah and found the Lord. He pleaded to be forgiven as he repented to the God of Israel. He came back to the Lord but sadly the people he lead astray under his leadership did not. Manasseh also lost the witness of his children, they missed the early years of Manasseh honoring and obeying God, Yahweh.
